March 23 to March 27

Learning Targets Target Learning

Learning Targets should be time bound and personal: Today I will...

But, Learning Targets should also be focused and centered on the GLEs specific to each grade level. Tying a Bloom's Taxonomy word to the Learning Target is the ticket to it's powerful influence in helping students learn what you want them to learn. Remember? There are 6 Bloom's Taxonomy categories - each with their own set of 'learning words':

  1. Knowledge - defines, recalls, knows, labels

  2. Comprehension - explains, gives examples, predicts

  3. Application - applies, domonstrates, solves

  4. Analysis - compares/contrasts, diagrams, illustrates

  5. Synthesis - categorizes, creates, rewrites

  6. Evaluation - interprets, justifies, concludes

What will your Learning Targets look like and sound like for your students this week?

5 Days or 40 hours or 2400 minutes or 144000 seconds
Spring Break is literally around the corner - but there is still much learning to be done. Please keep your week as routine as possible and maximize the learning with meaningful experiences for your students.

Staff Meeting - March 25 - 7:45am
WASL Training - please plan on attending this month's WASL training. To keep all our options open, everyone needs to be trained - which has been Hunt's past practice. Jennifer Neihaus will be facilitating this training and making sure everyone is signed off. If you can not make this training, please let Rebecca know before Wednesday.

End-of-Year Evaluations
Certificated Teachers - please return your Evaluation Input forms to your evaluator by Friday, March 27.

Got Stuff?
As a reminder to everyone - if you are electing to pass on your classroom items, please make sure anything purchased with building budgets (including your classroom budgets) is labeled with Hunt Elementary School. Nothing purchased with public funds should be for personal use or be removed from the building.

In addition, if your items are not picked up by someone within our building, you can place an ad on the PSD Bulletin Board (it's linked here). Please avoid placing unwanted items in the staff room - doing so makes your unwanted items someone else's unwanted problem - usually it's your administrators who have to pay the dump fee to get rid of the stuff left behind in July.

A few more things:
  • Got curriculum no longer supported by PSD? What to do?
    See Kellie for the paperwork.
Box it up, complete the obsolete documentation form, and then see Kellie for how to submit a warehouse pickup ticket.

  • Got an over abundance of PSD supported curriculum? What to do?
    See Kellie for the paperwork.
Box it up, complete a surplus documentation form, and then see Kellie for how to submit a TMC pickup ticket.

  • Got misc stuff that you no longer want, and it's not PSD owned, and no one else wants it?What to do?
Box it up and take it to the Good Will.

If you have any questions, please see Rebecca or Susan directly. The goal is to stay 'above board' with items purchased by our building budget AND maintain order and tidiness in every nook and cranny of our crowded space.

Keep On Keepin' On
As you prepare for a well deserved Spring Break, take care of yourself and each other.
