Learning Targets Target Learning
I have been so impressed with the level of application and use of Learning Targets in your classrooms! I'm still taking pictures - but the WASL schedule hindered my most efficient efforts. Many of you are posting targets that are:
Kid Friendly - written using kid language
Focused Daily - "Today..."
Action Oriented - written using a "Bloom's Taxonomy" word
If writing Targets is a challenge for you - it's okay. Just pick one subject to become confident with over time. No one is expecting perfection - just a start.
DIBELS Benchmark Assessments
It took some creative adjusting and wriggling...but the calendar is set! Thanks to all who have had to give up teaching space, reschedule events, or trade testing times. There are some situations despite good planning and organization that are out of our control...thanks for your flexibility if changes occur. The goal is collect formative data that will be used to measure progress over time, provided data for report card information, and help you make instructional decisions. As it stands now, the following dates are testing days:

April 30

Please be on time and ready to participate in some table discussions and group share outs. Starbucks will be providing the goodies!
Dress Code
The weather is unpredictable. Please take a minute or two in the next week to review appropriate warm weather school attire. See the school handbook.
Field Trips
If your team is planning a field trip and you have not submitted a Request Form, the 30 day timeline is fast closing. Not only that, but a request needs to be made to PTA for transportation. Friday, May 1 is the deadline for any field trip approvals for the 09-10 school year.
