Many of you have completed your report cards - GREAT! Be sure to keep the learning going, though, or the last 8 days are going to be LONG, LONG, LONG! Kids focused on meaningful and collaborative projects are less likely to get into trouble.
End of Year Procedures
Watch your mailbox this week for paperwork and information regarding preparing your classroom for summer cleaning, accounting for textbooks and materials, and generally wrapping up the year. Field Day and Year Book info will be coming ASAP, too.
GLAD Training Offered
Please let Rebecca know if you're interested in being trained using Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD) strategies - it's linked on the acronym. Because of Hunt's increased ELL population and because many teachers have already been train, we will participate in a Field Study Project with John Parker. His goal is to monitor and assess how our ELL students are performing because of your excellent first time instruction. Space is limited to 25 for our whole district. The following teachers are GLAD trained:
- Kinder - Julie Cushman
- 1st - Kathy Guimond, Jen Niehaus
- 2nd - Judy Lewis, Jen Niehaus
- 3rd - Jacque Steele, Kristin Volkman
- 4th - Carrie Perrin, Michelle Shula (soon!)
- 5th - Molly Perrine (soon!), Jill Hanson (soon!)
- 6th - Sandy Britton
- ELL - Rachel Bailey (soon to be a trainer!)
Every Monday Matters
This is your last full week with your students. Enjoy it and them! Even when the 'little things' are gettin' on your nerves! Remember, your students adore you as much as you adore them! They will miss you over the summer and they will maintain that sense of loyalty to you even when they return next year with a different teacher. Have a GREAT week - and as always, just let us know if you need help!
