Week of Dec 5 to Dec 9 - INSPIRING A Culture of Exceptional Good

A Bit of Q & A

Q:  How's your TMPPR? Want good behavior?
A:  Teach It, Model It, Practice it, Praise It, Reteach It.  This is your practice week for the second year of Project Praise (read as proh-ject meaning to set forth or calculate some future thing).  How many statements of praise can you make in a day?  Guess what happens when you praise, praise, praise?

Q: Do my students count? Do I get to keep para support?  Do I get para support this trimester?
A:  Of course they count!  In many ways!  But as for para support, the process for allocation has started.  Schedules stand as-is until further notice from HR and the Student Learning Department.

Q:  When are the Pawsistive Character Assemblies?
A:  December 16.  Grades 4-6 @ 9:15am and Grades 1-3 @ 10am (Kinders will be by class visits).  Please be sure you have contacted the parents of the students you nominated by Wednesday, December 7.

Q:  What are we doing this LIC Wednesday?
A:  It is scheduled to be a PR day, but committees and CSIP need to meet, so we'll treat it as a CT day.  Agendas will be posted by Monday.

Common Core Standards (CCSS)
Two comparative studies were conducted to measure the alignment of the current GLEs and PEs in Reading and Math.  Good news is Washington State is better off than other states - there is some alignment.  Bad news is there is some non-alignment.   A short video will be shared at our next staff meeting regarding the CCSS.

Upcoming ProDev

Dec 13 Staff Meeting @ 7:45am
Agenda: Motivating the Unmotivated
**be thinking about the 3-5 kids in your class who might need a special word of encouragement from you over Winter Break**

Every Monday Matters
There's no ignoring you all - you are SO good!  Thank you for making sure no kid is ignored at our school, as well.  You are using the most clever strategies to build relationships, so that you can get your kids focused and learning.  There's no luck in that - it's pure magic!
