PAWSitive Character Trait and Awards Assemblies - June 12
Please have your students seated BEFORE the start of the assembly. The primary assembly will be a quick, but the 3-6 could run long, so we need every minute. See your email for the juicy details...
Field Day, BBQ & National Flag Day - June 14
Dawn Vincent and Kristin Brands have been busy planning Hunt's 2012 Field Day for Highlanders. Watch for details in the coming days - and begin advertising the wearing of Red, White, and Blue on June 14 to honor the Grand 'Ol Flag. BBQ lunches will be adjusted - a schedule is coming soon. And as has been done in the past, teachers are expected to monitor and supervise kids during the events.
Journey's Reading & Harcourt Social Studies - Sample Materials
Boxes arrived mid-week last week with the samples. We'll get those unpacked this week.
Yes, we can keep the sample materials.
Yes, teachers can take the sample materials home over the summer.
Please keep in mind the recommendation for adoption of new elementary reading and social studies materials is pending Board approval.
Instructional Framework Selected
This is exciting! The Instructional Framework Committee is recommending the Danielson Framework for Teaching (check out this link). We can expect a steep learning curve with this, however, the committee believes this framework is:
"comprehensive but not complex"
"language is easy to understand,"
and it "sounds like Puyallup."

Every Monday Matters
WHAT?! The end...already? Ironically, this IS the reward for our toil every year - a last week of school. No matter, though - YOU have changed lives! To I N S P I R E every day took courage, patience, flexibility, and new perspectives. Thank you, thank you, and thank you, again. What our students will become is yet to be seen, but know that you had a hand in the course of their amazing future.
PS
Enjoy the week, and try to be routined, keep your expectations high, and remember to SMILE & BREATHE!
