In our daily lives we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.

Instructional Framework 101: IF 101
Domain 3: Instruction - the heart of the frameworkComponent a: Communicating with Students
Element: Directions and Procedures
Application: How clear are your directions to students? Do you provide directions in more than one way such as verbally and in written format? How do your students know what to do and what success looks like? Are they held accountable for the outcomes in the learning?
Danielson Quote: When students work independently or in small groups, the information they receive must be clear. Otherwise valuable time is lost because they are confused or are engaged in the wrong activity. (from Enhancing Professional Practice, p.78)

Substitutes & Workshops
**Update From HR**
Teachers are expected to confirm the assignment of a substitute prior to attending a workshop or conference. If no substitute is assigned, or the substitute cancels, teachers are to report to their classroom. At Hunt, we will try to accommodate when no substitutes are available, but we also have to honor the need for a certificated teacher in each classroom.

BE 212: Every Monday Matters
An Attitude of Gratitude. With 7 school days until Thanksgiving how can we draw out that Attitude of Gratitude with our students on a daily basis? Facebook is peppered with folks writing their daily thankfuls. What would happen if each of us took a minute or two each day to talk with students about a daily thanks? YOU are my daily thanks on behalf of our students. Teaching kids to read confidently, communicate thoughtfully, and respect differences is preparing them for a future we can’t even begin to predict. Who wouldn’t be grateful for that?
