Sept 8 - Sept 12

Thank You for a GREAT Start!
Everyone did their part - and it paid off! Thank you for helping to make this a terrific start to 2008-2009 school year for our Hunt students and parents.

Counting Counts!
Monday's the day to get your student counts correct. Complete a yellow Monday Morning Enrollment slip and send it to the office right away. Staffing across the district and class size para hours are triggered by these numbers. Who should you include? Any child who has been sitting in your classroom this year - including any one who is absent today, but came last week. In addition, any student enrolling Monday, will be placed in a classroom on Monday - we need to be able to count their bodies today. Thanks for your special attention to this important detail.

Teach It - Model It - Reward It
If Expected Behaviors are not taught now - it's going to be a L-O-N-G year. Before the end of this week, please teach every student in your class:

  • how to stand in line - the morning playground line, lunch line, and going home bus line

  • how to walk in the hallway - "2nd Tile with a Smile"

  • how to ask for help in the classroom, in the office, and on the playground

  • how to transition from one activity to another in your classroom and between specialist classes, and

  • who to ask for help from if they are being picked on, bullied, or harrassed

Stay tuned! Dates and times for grade level or classroom presentations from Rebecca and Susan will be presented soon. The purpose will be to ensure that every Hunt student hears the same message regarding Anti-Harrassment and Bullying.

Dismissal Procedures
Teachers - please walk your students to their dismissal spot - walkers, bikers, pick-uppers, and bussers. In the event that a student goes missing at the end of the day - you'll be the first person contacted. Please know where every student was dismissed to every day.

  • Return your Dismissal Form to Kellie by Wednesday of this week so she has a copy in the office.

  • If you're not sure where a student is to go by lunch time, be sure to follow up before dismissal.

  • Students must have a written note from a parent or guardian to go home a different way than usual - send them to the office.
