Sept 21 to Sept 25

Learning Targets Target Learning
It takes practice to use Bloom's Taxonomy Words in writing Learning Targets. Keep on keeping on. Remember to draw your student's attention to the targets before, during, and after your lessons. Give them something to talk about at the dinner table!

On a sidenote - last week I had to reteach myself about prime numbers and multiples, thanks to students who challenged me to solve a problem of their choice! I LOVE that the kids can tell me what they are learning!

LIC Wednesday - Sept 23 - Collaboration & Teaming
Plan to spend time in Curriculum Teams and Grade Level Teams discussing agenda items. We'll gather in the library at 2:01 promptly - cert staff must be in attendance.

  • Diversity - AYP status; Coat Closet Procedures; Morning Hunt 'breakfast' proposal; college bound status; needs of students; staff needs for ProDev in understanding poverty
  • Mathematics - update on Bridges Field Study, GWM, and CMP; use of State Standards; need for ProDev in use of State Standards; review of report card criteria for math; considerations for math support through Title 1
  • Literacy/Writing - DIBELS update; Writing Assessment needs; ProDev needs for interventions; update for Title 1 program; review of report card criteria for reading and writing
  • Technology - status of equipment; ProDev needs

Fall Advisory Sessions - Oct 1, 6, and tbd
Teachers and staff new to Hunt may need some support with planning and preparing for Advisory. Remember the goal of each 30 minute session is to highlight students with unique needs as presented by data and classroom observations. The team will include Rebecca (Admin), Susan (Admin), Mike (Counselor), Megan (OT/PT), Heather (Psych), Robert (SpEd), Brianne Barrett (Ed Specialist). A schedule will be released by Sept 28.

PTA Fundraiser
PTA hopes to conduct only one fund raiser this year. Whatever you can do to promote participation will be appreciated by all and will definitely benefit kids. A video will be shown on closed circuit - stay tuned for more details.

Every Monday Matters
I love Mondays! It's the only day of the week where I have a good idea of what the day will look like - including weekends! Every Monday I look forward to seeing each of you, and I can hardly wait to talk to the kids. It's a new week - make it matter for each of your students.

**if I've forgotten to add something to the Blog, and I told you I would. Sorry. I overlooked grabbing my clipboard with all the "Blog Stuff" noted for the week. I'll see what I can do to make up for it.
