Learning Targets Target Learning -
Think It Doesn't Matter?
Read On!
(permission was given to share this story, but said teacher did not want his/her name used.)

Here's how powerful the practice of Learning Targets is:

A Hunt teacher welcomed a guest teacher in her room last week. Before the math lesson, the students in the class noticed that the Learning Targets hadn't been posted yet. The Guest Teacher began the lesson, despite the noticeable energy in the classroom about not having a Learning Target. While the students began some practice work, the Guest Teacher (having very little training in the writing of Learning Targets) began writing the target on the board. The students in the class were so concerned that she wouldn't do it 'right', they helped her write the target so it clearly stated what was supposed to be learned. Proof that kids use those targets to focus their own learning! Gotta LOVE that! Keep up the GREAT work!

CSIP Meeting - Jan 19 @ 8:00am

We have a packed agenda:
  • Field Trips - which field trips is your grade level planning? How is your team planning to pay for them?

  • Review of Committee/SIP Work

  • MSP Practice Materials - what are our building wide plans for using them?

  • LIC Wednesday - Dr. Apostle's school visit - What questions are we putting forward to Dr. Apostle? How do teams want to spend the rest of the time?

Class-size Para Support
The numbers are in! Across the school, class sizes are such that it generates 30 hours of para support. Watch for an email or face to face chat about your needs - use the para hours or take the stipend, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Every Monday Matters
"I have a dream..." What an opportunity each of you has to help your students capture the power of infinite hope (see this week's quote). Thanks for all you do to help every kid see the potential they can not...yet.
