Aug 30 to Sept 3 - Welcome Back!

Learning Targets Target Learning
Same song...different year! The first days of school should be targeted on establishing, teaching, modeling, and reinforcing routines and procedures. Make those your Learning Targets - and you'll be set for the year! Your job will be made easier if you start the year strong!

Learning Targets Must:

1. Be Targeted (duh) - see the GLEs if you're stuck!

2. Be Meaningful - why teach it, if it doesn't matter?

3. Be Kid-friendly - know your audience and use the right words.

4. Pass the Stranger Test - would a guest entering your room see your targets posted clearly?

5. Be Talked About - weave the Target into every corner of instruction.

Begin from the get-go, but by Sept 7, posting Learning Targets for Reading and Math.

Every Monday Matters
It's that time of year again! I can't sleep...I forget to eat...I worry about everything being 'just so' for you, so that you can be freed up to do the business of our business - Teaching and Learning. However, recent events have reminded me (again) that it's the people we see each day who matter. Thank you in advance for what you'll do for kids, their families, your colleagues, and yourself to make this the best school year ever. You matter to me...
