Welcome to the 2010-2011 School Year! Usually principals spend this week composing their Back to School Letter to staff - not me! I am going 'greenish' by using our staff blog to keep you informed on a weekly (and more often if necessary) basis.
Here's the most up-to-date info I know right now:
AYP Status
No news, yet. I'm still hoping for the best, though. A letter has been drafted for the next step of support to be mailed to families - but keep your fingers crossed that we won't need it!
Field Studies - Hunt is involved in quite a few, but I love that we are on the cutting edge!
- Elementary Standards Based Gradebook - anyone interested with a select few providing feedback to ITC
- Bridges Math Curriculum at grades 3, 5, & 6
- District Reading Assessments at grades 2 through 6
- ELL Learning and Progress through the use of GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies

Aug 31 - Tentative Supplemental Day pending negotiations outcomes
**this is the day we agreed as a staff to meet for the 181st Staff Meeting and Meet the Teacher Night. Any changes will be communicated via email and/or School Messenger.
Sept 1 - Make some back-up plans (child care, vacation, dr appointment, etc) just in case negotiations approves the Aug 31 Supplemental Day
Every Monday Matters
It's not Monday at school yet, but it will be soon enough. You can count on the fact that any day now, your future students are wondering who you are and what you're about! Will you like them? Do you believe in their potential? Will you maintain high expectations for them? How will you treat them when they succeed - and when they don't? Until then, enjoy your family time and the scheming and dreaming that comes with the start of every new year!
