Back to School: Parent Power Nights - WOW!  What terrific presentations you provided for the parents who came to either or both events!  Thank you, teachers, for welcoming parents into your world.  We didn't catch every parent, but we got a few and that's a start!

Hunt Strategic Directions Power Points - WOW!  You are unstoppable!  Thank you for the professional presentations you and your team made on Wednesday!  I'm looking forward to our Advisory: CSI Sessions where we can continue the conversation around teaching and learning.  What must be loud and clear is unshakable belief that ALL our students can and will make progress - even exceed the benchmark!

PTA Membership & Events

• Membership Drive - last year 100% of our staff joined PTA. Let's do it again! Membership dues this year are $10 for staff. Watch your box for a membership envelope.
• VIP Fundraiser Cards - more details to come on this Fall Fundraiser. This card is similar to the Entertainment Books, however, the savings can be used over and over again throughout the country! Cards are $20 and $10 of every card sold goes back to PTA to support students, teachers, and the community. Check out this link for more information: The VIP Card
• Picture Perfect Hair Cut - This is an exciting Community Outreach Event!  To prepare for Individual Picture Day, our PTA is sponsoring a hair cut event for families on Oct 12 from 4-7pm in the gym. If you know a hair stylist who would be interested in donating their time, please email Rebecca or Mindy Gailey (PTA President). Donations received from this event will go back to PTA to support kids and families at Hunt.

Every Monday Matters
YOU are the BIGGEST predictor of success in each of your students!  YOU are the best hope they have for an excellent education - even in the face of outside circumstances. 

Have you considered what you're selling to your students?  Is it your best every day?  Is it worth buying? 

• Rapport:  How's your rapport with each student in your class?  Do they know you believe in each of them?
• Logic:  Do your students know what you want them to pay attention to during every lesson?  How clear are your targets?
• Emotion:  What are you doing to assure each child you care and that they matter?

An even more challenging question is:  What are you willing to do differently for the child who doesn't fit into the rapport, logic, or emotion of the work?

The Hunt Strategic Direction presentations last week demonstrated that there are rivers of EXCEPTIONAL running through our school!  I think we are capable of oceans...thanks for all you do for kids - even the ones who resist your efforts!
