Week of Oct 31 to Nov 4 - INSPIRING A SUPPORTIVE School Culture

Word On the Street

Advisory: CSI Sessions
We're starting this week to meet with teams.  I love this part of our work because we get to bring the greatest minds together in one room to talk about kids!  See your email for copies and agendas...

Overload Para Staffing
...finalizing these have taken longer than expected.  Hopefully we'll get to move forward this week.

Parent/Teacher Conferencing
...remember, Lisa and I are happy to attend any conferences you're having.  Just let us know so we can get our calendars booked - giving you the priority if possible.

Watch DOGS
...they keep coming back!  That speaks very highly of YOU and the way you welcome them to our school.  Thanks for helping build a meaningful schedule for them.

The Doom and the Gloom
...and it's not Halloween we're referring to - it's the economic forecast!  The TNT article from Oct 27 and a document out of Olympia (WASA) notes that "cuts to education represent a big chunk of Gregoire's options. She wants to reduce levy equalization for poor school districts by 50 percent, saving about $150 million, and cuts $166 million of state money for colleges and universities."  It will be critical that we stay abreast of the information and facts - we are all key communicators with parents and community members.  As information is shared with me about how this crisis will impact PSD - I will communicate that to you.  In the meantime - stay positive, focused on the kids, and strategic in your instruction.

Every Monday Matters
Continuous improvement...that's the journey we are all on whether you're the kid or the grown-up.  It's one reason I love being part of the Advisory:CSI Sessions - I always learn something from each of you!  Thank you for creating a school culture where the improvement benefits kids!

Thank you Rebecca! The work with Watch Dogs, staff communication, and the hours and hours of work and preparation you have put into Advisory and the work toward student improvement, has not gone unnoticed!
