Week of Nov 7 to Nov 11 - INSPIRING A Positive School Culture

Word On the Street

Honoring Veterans
Two assemblies are planned for this week to honor past and present Veterans.  In your communications with parents and guardians, please extend an invitation.
  • Wednesday, Nov 9 @ 9:30am for grades K-3 with Hunt Chorus Performing
  • Thursday, Nov 10 @ 1:10pm for grades 4-6 with Ferrucci Junior High Performing
Food Drive
...is underway.  Thank you for promoting this important community service experience.  We have many families in need this year - and some haven't even let us know, yet.  See Sandy's email from last week for a classroom newsletter statement.

Gift Makers of Puyallup
...is looking for stocking stuffer donations.  If your students are looking for a way to contribute to the greater community, this might be something your team can take up.  It might be another way to build cultural competency by learning about the traditions and rituals shared by the students in their families.  For example, stockings always have Carmex Lip Balm in them at our house.

Report Cards
...details coming.  In general, you know the drill...start positive, summarize the data (DIBELS, MAZE, Writing Scores, Math Computational, and Problem Solving), note areas of needed improvement, and end with a positive future statement.  You each do a fine job of balancing the genuine care you have for each of your students and the necessary data to paint the academic picture for future educational professionals.

Coat Closet
...the coats mysteriously disappeared, and then reappeared via Shalina Morrell.  Thank YOU, Shalina, for cleaning all the coats for us!  Right now the coats are in the counseling office, but they will be moved to the coat closet on the stage ASAP.  If you notice a child needs a coat, feel free to make that happen.

Every Monday Matters
...love that you all are maintaining positive attitudes.  Thank you for finding the silver linings, doing your best, and believing that ALL your students can and will learn.
