The Week In Review

While it was a short week of learning for our students, I'm sure you'll agree that the time we spent in ProDev was meaningful and relevant.

Thank you for getting started on your SLPs! They will be important working documents as we help students progress toward meeting standards. Please be sure to include every parent/guardian and student in the process.

Literacy Interventions - Vince spoke to much of what Hunt is already doing. I hope you found his message and information encouraging and confirming. We are on the 'right track' with collecting data to help make instructional decisions, implementing progress monitoring, and considering the best support through the Reading Interventions and Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO).

DIBELS Online Data Management - I've received the go ahead to use the online system. More info to come as I learn how to input the data. I can't wait! :)

Advisory Is Just Around the Corner
What is Advisory? It's an opportunity for the classroom teacher to meet with a variety of school personell to talk about the students and their specific data. Fall Advisory is scheduled for Oct 16, Oct 23, and Oct 30 - please sign up for one 30-minute section on one of the three days by Tuesday, Oct. 14. The sign up sheet is hanging on the bulletin board outside the staff lounge. A roving sub will come to your room to cover your class while you're meeting with the Advisory Team.

Oct 14 Picture Day
Let's be flexible...we have a new photography studio working with us this year. There might be glitches...also, please remind your students on Monday about their picture getting taken on Tuesday. These are yearbook pics. Get yours taken as well - you will receive a complimentary package.

Oct 15 Family Conference Scheduling
The info I shared with you at our LIC gathering was wrong - sorry. Every classroom has 3 or 4 shared siblings. Please join us in the library on Wed, Oct 15 from 1:00 - 1:30 to schedule conferences for the 3 and 4 kid families. As promised, I will provide each grade level with a list of the 2 kid families.
