Learning Targets Target Learning
Keep postin' your targets...and talkin' about 'em too.
End of Year Inventory
As you count and inventory your textbooks and teaching materials, please keep in mind that you are submitting your needs based on the projected number of students at your grade level for next year. Projections are noted at the top of each grade level's inventory form.
End of Year Behavior Problems
We might not be the only learners looking forward to the end of year festivities and wrap up; many of our students are looking ahead to the summer months. However, for a good number of our students - the end of the school year brings uncertainty, worry, and consequently increased negative behaviors. Be sure to be as proactive as possible:
- review your behavior and learning expectations - daily or more often if needed
- keep your routines routine - to the very E-N-D
- stay positive and consistent
- grant 'grace' where you can - we all need a little of it every once in a while
- recognize when kids are feeling anxious and acting out because of insecurity, and when kids are just acting defiant
Spring Advisory - May 7, May 14, and May 19 (change from May 21)
Session I and II are complete! Students are making progress and the ones who need more time and support will continue to receive it as we pool all of our resources together until the end.
May 19: Hendrickson, Hodge/Rogers, Holdeman, Linkem, Thorson, Hanson, deVries,Thompson
Staffing UpdateLast week was a doozy. All said and done, with non-replacement contracts and RIFs, our Hunt Family is taking a HUGE hit. The following list is meant to keep everyone straight on who is effected (or in this case it might be 'affected') by the cuts:
- LOA to China - Sami
- Involuntary Transfer - Lorrie
- 1-Year Contract - Lois, Becca, and Liz
- RIF Notices - Heather, Kirstin, Shalina, Hayley, and Zena
That being said, as sad as we all are to know we will not be the same staff next year, and that 10 of 'Our People' will likely be some place else - we must persevere like the champions we are for our students this year. Continue to provide the support and encouragement you are known for. And if you hear a rumor, please see Rebecca or Susan - before it gets out of control.
