Learning Targets Target Learning
At 6.5 hours per school day, there are less than 60 hours of instructional time left in the 08-09 school year. Make every minute count by continuing to post your Learning Targets. Keeping your day consistent and predictable, helps your students make the kinds of choices which promote learning – and fun, because learning is fun!
BBQ – Monday, June 8
Kathy Sayers, Lead Kitchen Staff, will be at Hunt early to hand stamp kids who have prepaid for the BBQ lunch on Monday. Please listen for the announcements or other form of communication about this helpful pre-lunch plan.
BBQ Heads UP
- If it’s raining, we won’t be able to eat outside – bummer.
- Your class needs to stay together – and please remind them to clean up their garbage
- Recess is as usual – please avoid releasing your students to play at a recess that is not normally scheduled
- BBQ guests may arrive a stitch early – thanks in advance for welcoming them and then going with the flow of the event
- Susan and Rebecca will be helping with the food service and whatever needs to be done
Field Day – Volunteer Lists Due Monday, June 5
Thanks to Sarah and PTA Parent, Malinda Thiel, the 08-09 Field Day events are going to be a HIT! The more volunteers we have, the more fun kids will have. Malinda and PTA have arranged for MerryMakers to bring a bounce house relay for the kids to race through – might be a good time to set up some ‘friendly staff challenges,” too! Rumor has it a few staff members have been in training for Field Day all year!
Year Books – A BIG Thanks to Carol Howry & Kristin Brands
Carol and Kristin are excited to receive the final copies of the yearbooks – and so are the kids. Sixth graders will likely be handed their yearbooks before the end of the week – by June 12. All other students will be able to look through and gather signatures for their personal year books on Wed., June 17.
Etiquette - Let’s make no assumptions about what students know – you must spend some time teaching “Year Book Etiquette.” Doing so will likely decrease the misuse or handling of someone elses property. Watch for a half sheet of info to be delivered with your classes yearbooks.
End of Year Classroom Events
Many of you have let Susan and/or Rebecca know if you have special classroom events. Better to let us know earlier rather than later. We will make every effort to be at some or all of your classroom event. We look forward to celebrating your great work with kids.
