You’ve got this! And it will be a GREAT night! The nitty-gritty details are still getting worked out – but here a few items to take note of:

- PTA – will be present to welcome families and recruit support
- Wed LIC Afterschool Programs – these folks may be present , we’re working on it
- Childcare – we’re hoping JAG crew from ERHS will be present to supervise kids outside, no confirmation, yet (yikes!)
- Specialists – will be present and available to answer questions
- School Messenger – a phone and email message will go out to all families Monday reminding them of the event.

Highlander PTA Updates
- Highlander Educator Membership – see the letter and envelope in your box; the goal is 100% staff membership; $10 gets you IN!
- Fall Fund Raiser – World’s Finest Chocolate sales start Sept 20. If this goes well, it might be the only fund raiser PTA has to do. Let’s all do our part to support and promote this event so that PTA can continue to bring special events to Hunt and support you in the classroom.
Professional Development
Be sure to visit the PSD ProDev website often…there are some GREAT training opportunities for all teachers and support staff.
LIC Wednesday – Sept 19 Collaboration/TeamingTeachers and staff will gather briefly to review Site Committee work, and then teachers will meet with the grade level above and below in vertical teaming. Agenda to come…
In Building: Team ProDev – Release Time OptionsPlans are in the works for each team to be released to work collaboratively between now and the end of October. Details to come, but consider how your team would like to work:
- Option 1: hire half-day subs during the work day
BE 212: Every Monday Matters
Faith, Hope, and Love – in an educational setting that means building relationships. You are doing just that! And this week, we have an opportunity to promote our profession with our parent community. It is likely that something little you do – that tiny one degree - will:
- Renew or rekindle FAITH in how you help each parent’s child learn.
- Ignite HOPE through your plan to help each parent’s child be successful.
- Foster a LOVE for learning that changes the destiny of Highlander students – and their parents!
